Exhibition Overview
As the global aviation industry continues to recover, China’s aviation market is entering a new phase of growth, reinforcing the strategic importance of MRO capabilities and the aviation materials supply chain. According to industry forecasts, China is expected to emerge as the world’s largest commercial aviation aftermarket, with market value projected to increase from USD 24.8 billion in 2025 to USD 63.8 billion by 2044. China’s domestic aviation MRO market is expected to reach RMB 150 billion by 2028, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 15%. Meanwhile, China’s civil aviation fleet is entering a phase of simultaneous fleet expansion and aging, with the fleet reaching 4,270 aircraft by the end of 2023. The delivery of the C919 and demand for nearly 10,000 new aircraft over the next two decades are creating significant opportunities across the full aircraft lifecycle services market. Meanwhile, the industry continues to face structural challenges, including limited supply chain localization, high airworthiness certification barriers, dependence on imported high-value components, skilled workforce shortages, and gaps in digital capabilities. Parts shortages can result in costly aircraft-on-ground (AOG) events, making digitalization, intelligent MRO, and sustainability critical priorities for the industry. As a major international aviation hub, Shanghai boasts a strong industrial base and extensive global connectivity. Since its launch in 2015, MRO CHINA has grown through ten successful editions, on the basis of thousands of suppliers from more than 40 countries, with a cumulative exhibition area exceeding 50,000 sqm. The event has received strong support from leading industry players, including AVIC, COMAC, Airbus, Boeing, Air China, and China Eastern Airlines. Focusing on localization, supply chain resilience, and digital transformation, MRO CHINA 2027 aims to establish one of Asia-Pacific’s most influential sourcing events dedicated to MRO and the aviation materials supply chain, providing an integrated platform for technology showcases, business matchmaking, industry insights, and international collaboration to address the industry’s most pressing needs.
New Opportunities
As the global aviation industry enters a new growth cycle, MRO and the aviation materials supply chain are emerging as key drivers of industry transformation and value creation. To provide an international platform for business matchmaking, technical exchange and global collaboration across the aviation MRO sector, and to advance the high-quality development of the global aviation maintenance and engineering industry, Golden Group, together with relevant industry authorities, will host the 10th Shanghai International MRO and Aviation Materials Supply Chain Exhibition from July 7 to 9, 2027 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
Taking “Connecting the World, Building a New Aviation Supply Chain Ecosystem” as its theme, the exhibits cover the entire aviation MRO value chain, including MRO services, engines, avionics, digital solutions, and aircraft materials trading, with a focus on localization, supply chain resilience, and the industry’s transition toward digitalization, intelligent technologies, and sustainability. Meanwhile, the exhibition will support the development of China’s MRO ecosystem for domestically manufactured aircraft, strengthen value-chain collaboration, connect buyers with suppliers, and expand international partnerships to enhance the global competitiveness of China’s MRO industry. It will attract MRO providers, OEMs, airlines, lessors, distributors and investors worldwide to attend the exhibition, serving as a premier platform for global aviation MRO collaboration.
Concurrent Activities
During the exhibition, there are a series of concurrent events to be held, including the Aviation Engineering & Services Summit, Aviation Materials Supply Chain Security Forum, MRO Technology Innovation Seminar, Procurement Matchmaking Meetings, and New Product Launches. The events will attract representatives from government authorities, industry associations, airlines, MRO providers, OEMs, research institutions, and investment organizations in Shanghai for in-depth discussions on key topics including global MRO market trends, aviation materials supply chain security, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
Aviation Engineering & Services Summit
As the main forum of MRO CHINA, and one of Asia’s most influential events for the aviation MRO and engineering industry, management of aviation authorities like CAAC, IATA, ailiners such as AIR CHINA, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, HNA, Xiamen Air, aircrafts manufacturers COMAC, AIRBUS, BOEING, and Aviation Maintenance & Repair companies e.g. AMECO, GAMECO, Eastern Airlines Technology will be invited to discuss with all of participants about hot topics such as, aviation engineering, engine maintenance & repair technologies, interior material innovation, market analysis and development strategies of China’s civil aviation maintenance industry, strategies and trends for airliner’s cost control, management & risk control for aviation engine’s maintenance, optimization procurement & inventory management for brand new spare parts & 2nd-handed spare parts, etc.
Supply and Demand Docking Meeting
As one of the exhibition’s key highlights, leading global suppliers of aircraft MRO, cabin interiors, aerospace materials, standard parts and components, and airborne systems will gather in Shanghai to engage with airlines and aircraft OEMs and explore future collaboration opportunities. Combined with one-to-one and face-to-face communication, the meeting will provide the sample collection and the collection of information, in order to promote understanding and friendship between both sides of the supply and demand.
